I never shot any of it past that. IMO, it is good enough to make a bunch of range ammo. It is very close to BL-C(2), which is my go to powder for .223. Feb 01, 2015 · I shoot 62 gr Varmaggedon's with AR-Comp and love the accuracy from it in my AR. I'd post a pic, but dont have it right now. It's a very light load, 2839 fps @ est. 48k psi. I will exceed the case capacity if I try to hit the next faster node. I don't have TAC, but here is a comparison between the two in the bullet weights you mentioned.
My last load was 35.6 grains of 4895. The velocities were weak - around 2560. Other than that, not a bad load, I'm just looking for more zip. Next I'm going to try BL-2(C). According to Ken Waters this should show some decent velocity and good accuracy with 120 grain bullets. I'm intrigued by your RL-15 load. OBT loads at 1.346 mS were targeted for both bullets. The Lapua 123 Scenars ran 3120 FPS, with a SD of 10 and an ES of 25 at 48.8 grains Hunter. The 130 Berger VLD ran 3048 FPS, with a SD of 11 and an ES of 26 at 48.2 grains Hunter, and 3011 FPS, with a SD of 15 and an ES of 39 at 47.5 grains Hunter.
